Safeguarding Children

Safeguarding children is high on The FA’s agenda. The goal is to have someone at every club in the country aware of child protection and best practice, whether it’s a Premiership Club or a Sunday morning park side. Let’s make football safe, not sorry.Safeguarding children is about doing things the right way, doing things properly. It’s about allowing children to enjoy the game without abuse of any kind. That means bullying, physical, emotional or sexual abuse and neglect.

The FA believes football can have a powerful positive influence on children. But that means everyone involved in football must take on the responsibility of looking after those children that want to play the game.

At North Riding County FA we ensure that all Junior Clubs have a Club Welfare Officer that is qualified to the required FA standards with an enhanced FA CRB, Safeguarding Children Certificate as well as a Welfare Officer Workshop qualification. Training is topped up with quarterly forums and regular email updates.

To book on to any of the training sessions stated above please see the Courses section of our website or alternatively click here.

If you have any safeguarding queries please contact the North Riding County FA Welfare Officer:
